Clear the whole canvas?

This resets all 720 cells to cream. You can undo it right after.

Shrink the grid?

Moving to undefined × undefined keeps the top-left area and cuts away beads outside it. This can be undone.

FROM SCREEN TO STRING

A pattern you can
actually finish.

Large beadwork gets heavy fast. Plan the dimensions and materials first, then use the printed grid as your row-by-row map.

  1. 01

    Choose a clear motif

Strong shapes and a limited palette stay readable when every pixel becomes one bead.

  2. 02

    Check the real size

Set the diameter of your beads. The studio calculates the finished width and height before you begin.

  3. 03

    Sort, string, mark

Use the color totals as a shopping list and cross off each printed row while you work.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Pony bead tapestry basics

What size pony beads should I use?

Standard pony beads are often about 9 mm across. Measure your actual beads and adjust the size so the finished dimensions match your materials.

How does image conversion work?

The tool crops your image to the grid, samples each cell, and maps it to the closest color in the built-in bead palette using perceptual color matching. You can repaint any cell afterward.

Can I make a large wall hanging?

Yes. The editor supports grids up to 80 × 80 beads. For a first project, a 24–40 bead width is easier to handle and print.

Does the tool save my uploaded photo?

No. Image processing happens locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and your project autosaves to this device only.

Is it really free?

Yes — the pattern maker, all starter patterns and the printable exports are free. A optional workshop pack funds the site.

Do I need an account?

No account, no sign-up. Your project saves itself in your browser and exports as a file you can keep.
